| Creating hundreds of new jobs for the area, this £50 million distribution centre project in Kent spanned across 62,000 m2 and was developed over a 12 month programme as part of the Queenborough and Rushenden regeneration scheme. With building work commencing in summer 2015, SGD were drafted in shortly after to design a bespoke fire and security solution for the project, encompassing systems for the 14-acre Warehouse, 40,000 sq ft offices and surrounding grounds. |

SGD were selected thanks to our experience working with similar development projects across the country, in particular following our participation in the development of a Distribution Centre in Capital Business Park in Cardiff. This project followed very similar requirements, including a tailored Gent fire system accompanied with a WINMAG interface, intruder alarm system, CCTV surveillance and networked access control.
Fire systems in particular require a dedicated approach, ensuring all Gent panels, detectors and peripherals are installed to BAFE SP203-1 Standards . Pairing the fire panels with an invaluable tool such as Gent's WINMAG GUI allows our team to confidentially pass over the keys to such a large system. The WINMAG system itself enables easy location of a fire in an emergency and allows for rapid decision making through event-based control of devices. For this application, this extremely flexible system was also tailored to interactive site plans and can be expanded with features such as calendar-driven routines, event response messaging and customised work flows. |
