| Situated in the city centre, Cardiff and Vale College's latest development has been one of the biggest education projects in Cardiff for a generation. The building itself spans 1,875 m2 and features 130 different teaching rooms, including specialist labs, workshops and studios to fully accommodate CAVC's high achieving students. |
SGD once again played their part in the project, working with electrical engineering contractors Evans Electrical to design a fully networked fire and security solution for the college. Our detailed proposal mirrored the size of the project ahead of us, featuring over 200 Paxton access controlled doors, 80 Hikvision CCTV cameras, a fully networked Gent fire system and large Galaxy intruder alarm.
Where possible, all systems were networked into front-end management tools to ensure the building can be secured intelligently from one central location. Our team take pride in their work and at every opportunity seek perfection in the installation of fire and security systems. Now a completed project, SGD continue to keep the college under our watchful eye. For the past 3 years we have secured ongoing maintenance contracts and continue to work closely with the college to meet their fire and security requirements. Our sister company, ADC Fire Systems, are responsible for the maintenance of the Gent Fire system, whilst SGD Security maintain the buildings electronic security systems. SGD Guarding also work with the college to provide ongoing guarding services where required. |
