| As part of a £12m refurbishment programme in Wales, Afon Taf High School was set to be transformed thanks to the Government-supported 21st Century Schools Programme. As one of Merthyr Tydfil's oldest secondary schools, it was first in line to be updated to 'outstanding' with the entire building refurbished and restructured, ensuring all pupils have the appropriate facilities to reach their full potential. |

Our long track record of working within Education allows us to tackle even the most complex of tasks with a trusted and proven end solution. In this particular case we were also asked to work within tight deadlines - a challenge we were happy to accept. |
| The new school building required a 'from-the-ground-up' fire and security solution to compliment the new building and refurbishment, ensuring staff, pupils and visitors are secure within the premises at all times. As part of the specified design, an Advanced Electronics networked fire panel with Hochiki protocol was utilised for fire detection whilst a combination of electronic security systems were chosen to aid day-to-day security measures. Xplan IP access control, Aperio wireless locks and Hikvision IP CCTV were all utilised within the design, with the CCTV system managed by Milestone video management software for ease of use and flexibility. The project itself was developed and expanded over two years and three phases - transforming the existing school into a new-age learning facility. |
