| The new £4 million Advanced Engineering Centre (AEC) extension at City of Bristol College brings together the college's existing engineering courses under one roof, including Engineering, Aeronautical, Manufacturing and Automotive. Thanks to funding from the Local Growth Fund, the 1,200 m2 extension provides state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for students and apprentices to further their education and achieve success in their respective fields. |

| Expanding fire and security measures at City of Bristol College's new Advanced Engineering Centre extension |
With an existing 1000 apprentices working with some 600 employers at the AEC, the new extension provides the opportunity for a further 60 new apprentices to join. With an extension of this type and use, it is essential for any existing fire and security measures to be reviewed and expanded to meet the high fire and security standards of the College.
Working with contractors Fuseland Electrical, SGD were happy to step in to oversee the expansion of the existing fire systems and inclusion of an access control and intruder alarm system. Following a full site survey, our team were able to propose a design utilising systems from leading manufacturers such as Gent, Salto and Galaxy – ensuring the college is kept future-proof and expandable for many years to come. |
